How can I view my students’ AIMS Practice Test scores?

Answer: Students must login as IDEAL guests in order to use the AIMS Practice Tests. After completing a test, students can click on “Save my answers” to compare the correct answers to each question with their own. However, students are not currently eligible for their own IDEAL accounts. Because students do not have unique IDEAL User IDs, we are unable to store or share quiz results for students at this time.
Where can my students find the AIMS Practice Tests?

Answer: To use the AIMS Practice Tests, students must login as IDEAL guests. First, go to http://ideal.azed.gov/ and click on the AIMS Practice Tests box at the bottom of the Welcome page. Click on a quiz, then hit the “Login as a guest” button. Select a quiz, then click on the “Quizzes” link next to the icon of a page with a red check. Click on the name of the quiz, then hit the “Attempt quiz now” button to begin.
Where do I find the Formative Assessments and AIMS for Educators?

Answer: Both Formative Assessments (FA) and AIMS Practice Tests are located on the Formative Assessment page of IDEAL. Login to IDEAL at http://ideal.azed.gov/ and click on the “Curriculum Resources” menu to access both the AIMS for Educators and the FA sections.
Do Formative Assessments predict AIMS scores?

Answer: There is no data to show a connection between scores on the formative assessments and on the AIMS test.
What’s the difference between Formative Assessment and AIMS?

Answer: Formative Assessment (FA) questions are different than the AIMS preparation questions. While both FA and AIMS questions are based on the Arizona State Standards, FA questions are a learning tool—they are intended to help teachers identify their students’ areas of strength and weakness. Teachers can then use IDEAL, including FA itself, to find or develop the resources they need to help their students. AIMS questions, on the other hand, are intended to help teachers and students evaluate students’ readiness for the AIMS test.
Both FA and AIMS questions are located on the Assessment page of IDEAL. Teachers must login to IDEAL to access both the AIMS for Educators and the Formative Assessment sections. However, students do not need to login to use the AIMS practice tests–an AIMS practice tests link is available at http://ideal.azed.gov/ on the front page of IDEAL.==================================================================================
